Admit all refugees now! No to U.S. or Russian intervention in Syria!

Syrian refugees are being detained and attacked across white supremacist European states while attempting to flee a country ravaged by imperialist interventions. These European states have funnelled arms, funds, and training to various factions in the civil war while simultaneously refusing entry of refugees into their borders. In fact, while the U.S., the U.K., Saudi Arabia and Russia have sent most weapons to Syria they have accepted the lowest number of refugees. While the imperialist powers have put a huge stake in the outcome of the Syrian civil war, they are unwilling to deal with the consequences, including the refugee crisis.

We relate this struggle to the struggle of immigrants in the United States, who are detained, abused, harassed, and beaten on a daily basis as they come to the United States seeking better lives, often as a result of US imperialist policies that have exploited and stunted the development of their home countries. Living in the belly of the U.S. imperialist beast, it is necessary to organize in our communities in order to advance the self-determination of oppressed nations. This includes not only demanding the acceptance ofSyrian refugees, but also struggling for the return of the Palestinian refugees, and organizing for the progressive demands of undocumented immigrants within the United States.

Countries like the United States, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Jordan have only destabilized the country and hijacked the Syrian revolution, by backing murderous, reactionary pawns like the Free Syrian Army and Al-Nusra Front. On the other hand, the regime of the brutal Assad dictatorship, backed by Russian imperialism, has long repressed the self-determination of the Syrian and Kurdish peoples. The Syrian question is one to be decided by the oppressed peoples of Syria.
